The Nostepinne is a traditional Norwegian hand tool to wind wool by hand (e.g. from a reel) to a ball. The Nostepinne is made of particularly sturdy rubber wood and, at approx. 28 cm, has the perfect length to hold virtually any ball of yarn. In contrast to the normal hand winding, the ball is not wound too tightly and a ball with a central hole is formed, whereby the thread can be removed from the inside of the ball. Ideal to use in combination with the yarn butler.
The yarn butler (made of red birch wood) allows a relaxed knitting experience. It is perfectly adjusted in the rotation resistance. The very larger foot and the weight are perfectly balanced in order to give a firm footing even with larger yarn balls.
A handcrafted wooden ball winder that can wind up to 450g of fingering weight yarn (15 oozes). Built in anti-friction mechanism insures free rotation and a smoothly wound ball of yarn.
Anti-skid rubber pads prevent the winder from sliding or scratching the table surface. The ball winder is available in two variations in wood, with separate replacement bands. Made with a combination of colourful laminated beech wood.
